I know it is February, the second month of the new year, but I am just finding time to write about our New Years, which is probably a testament to the rapid pace of our lives lately. :) We had the best ringing in of the New Year that we've had in a long time. We spent New Years Eve at our friend Diana's place on Ft. Lewis, welcoming the new year in the comfort of old friendships, familiar stories of times past, and the shared hope of things to come. Diana and I stayed up far later than we should at our ages, talking into the wee hours of the morning while Duane snored in the recliner and Samantha and Kaitlyn drifted off on the couch. We laughed, we cried, we gossiped, we reminisced......what better way to start the year??? And the next morning, before we headed back to Oregon and ultimtely, back to Florida, we had coffee at the DuPont Starbucks, one of our old haunts. It was the perfect start to a new year.
