Konnichiha!

On Tuesday, Kaitlyn's Kindergarten class made a trip to Okinawa's, a Japanese Steak House. They have been studying the continents of the world and their trip was the culmination of their study of Asia. The best part of the trip for the moms was that the kids each had a kimono made for them from material that they chose. They wore their kimonos on their trip, which was incredibly cute. I didn't get to chaperone the field trip as I had a test to give to my 7th graders that day, but I did race down to Ms. James' room to get a few pictures of the Kaitlyn and her friend AnneMarie (whose mommy teaches 6th grade Science) before they left on the trip. Kaitlyn particularly enjoyed the whole fire aspect of the food cooking at Okinawas and was apparently quite dextrous with the chopsticks, something she obviously did not inherit from me as I usually just end up flinging the food across the room when I attempt to use them!
